What is Qi Gong?

Qi (pronounced “chee”) Gong is a practice for less stress and more energy.

It is a practice of self-care for the body, mind and spirit. It originated in China and is simple and easy to learn. It can be done by anyone at any age and any fitness level. It comprises of simple aerobic exercise, stretch, breathwork, mindfulness and meditation.

Qi Gong differs from other types of exercise in that: the movements are usually circular and never forced, the muscles are relaxed rather than tensed, the joints are not fully extended or bent, and connective tissues are not stretched.

It is often described as “meditation in motion,” but Harvard Medical School actually calls it “medication in motion.” According to Harvard Medical School there is growing evidence that this mind-body practice is able to treat and prevent many health problems.

Qi Gong is very effective, leading to changes in stress, mood and energy levels. It is most commonly used to: heal from an injury or disease, slow the aging process and maximize energy levels.

I look forward to sharing this amazing practice with you!
